Overview

Sunday catechism at Holy Family Forane Church is thoughtfully designed to nurture the spiritual growth of children through a structured and engaging faith formation program. Each Sunday, catechism begins with a lively assembly at 8:00 a.m., where children gather for prayer, weekly announcements, and a hymn before moving to their classes Classes run from 8:15-09:50 a.m., tailored to the students’ grade levels—young children engage through action songs and Bible stories, while older ones delve into the Old Testament, the life of Jesus, and Church teachings.

Teachers employ a dynamic mix of teaching methods—lectures, audio-visual aids, group activities, competitions, and creative programs—all aimed at making learning both meaningful and enjoyable.

Academic reinforcement comes through two exams annually, one in October and another in February, aimed at building confidence and retention. The program also includes monthly special events—such as quizzes, essay writing, singing, dancing, and drawing—that help children express their creative talents while deepening their biblical understanding.

Moreover, the children themselves help animate the Sunday Mass—taking turns with readings, singing in the choir, and enriching the liturgical experience with their active participation. The catechesis year culminates in a grand Annual Day, where students receive awards and certificates for their achievements and performances in various activities, and often orchestrate the program themselves—a joyful testament to their learning and spiritual growth.
