Pithruvedhi is an association for all the married members of our Parish. This association was conceived by all Bangalore based Syro Malabar Churches in August 2014. When Mandya dioceses was constituted, Pithruvedhi was implemented at a diocese level.

Pithruvedi, Holy Family Parish, Hongasandra is formed in February, 2012 with about 50 members under the guidelines of our Syro Malabar, Mandya Diocese Pithruvedi, while Rev. Fr. Mathew Koikara was our Holy Family Forane Church Vicar. That same year 1st May Day, our Patron saint of Workers, St. Joseph celebrated with much enthusiasm and ends with Dinner.

•We do arrange quality Christmas Cakes for our Parishioners’ sourced from Kerala.
Activities
Pithruvedi’s main aim is to support and Co-ordinate with the Parish Council, for it’s smooth functioning and to fulfill the needs of the Parish Community, with the maximum family heads participation by their joining the Pithruvedi.
1.We, Pithruvedi members meet every second Sunday after 8 am Holy Mass, with a small prayer, then read the report, present the account, then discuss for activities to be taken care of in the month.
2.We have our Pithruvedi Prayer meeting on last Sunday of every month in one our member’s house which concludes with Dinner.
3.We support our new Parishioners’ family in getting a suitable house on rent, Job, or School admission etc.
4.We arrange, or support Vocation Promotion Programs n Seminars for our Parishioners’ Children to identify n choose our their future course of Studies/Life.
5.Visit and support the Sick & Elderly of our Parish Community with their needs wherever possible.
6.We support our Bed ridden Parishioners’ with Oxygen Generator/Cylinders, Air Bed, Walkers, Nebulizer etc. sourced from our Parishioners’ in good condition, or else by purchasing new on requirements.
7.We visit and support Orphanage, Old-age home with their monthly provisions at least on quarterly basis.
8.We visit n support our Parishioners’ family in case of sudden death/accidents/hospitalisation.
9.Recently we have arranged and paid Ambulance charges to carry home the Body of a young Kannada man to his native place Selam, staying on rent with family close to one of our member, who who died of heart attack.
10.We are sponsoring a Mandya Diocese Seminarian with study expenses.
11.We have agreed to support a Parishioner family to construct their house.
12.We do organise St. Joseph’s Feast and Oottu Nercha in the month of March, evry year for 1000-1200 people.
13.We are working on to start a Marriage Website Portal for our Syro Malabar Mandya Diocese families in finding their children their suitable Partners.
14.Our Pithruvedi Family Get-together & Seminar on Parent-Childrens Conflicts and it’s Solutions (2 hrs talk by Rev. Fr. Varghese Koluthara-CMI, then Holy Mass Celebration, and 1 hr. Cultural Program and Dinner) being arranged on 1st May, 2024 from 3.30 pm to 9.30 pm.
